Benoît Déhu’s family has 10 hectares of vines in the Marne, but in 2011, Benoît returned home after a stint at Bollinger and decided to produce Champagne and still wine from a single parcel of Pinot Meunier farmed biodynamically. The grapes are vinified with natural yeast and aged in barrel.
Since 2013, the barrels have been made from trees owned by Benoît in Meilleray and fabricated by a barrel maker in Champagne. Antonio Galloni wrote, “The wines are mesmerizing and captivating in every way. Some of the most distinctive and moving Champagnes I tried in 2020.”
