The Moncuit family has a long history of farming some of the best vineyards in the Côte des Blancs.
The family began purchasing land in 1889 and by 1928 were bottling at the domaine. The current winemaker, Pierre Amillet, is the fourth generation to lead the winery. The estate has 8 hectares under vine in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Vines are tended without the use of pesticides or herbicides. Fruit is hand-harvested and sorted, with each parcel vinified separately to optimize its quality and distinctive nature. All the wines are raised in tank, to ensure contact with the lees, as Pierre thinks oak masks the chalky terroir of Mesnil. The malos happen naturally, and the wines are not filtered or chaptalized.
